2013 Street Maintenance and Improvements

Maintenance and Improvement projects for 2013 are listed below:

Project name: 21st St. from SE California to SE Carnahan Rd. California.
Program Year: 2012
Restart Construction Date: March 18, 2013
Est. Completion Date: July 18, 2013
Details: The contractor finished removal of the asphalt pavement and replaced with full depth
asphalt from Carnahan to Highland. Phase II will run from Highland Ave. to California. This is
complete remove with replacement of full depth asphalt pavement.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $1.2 million

Project Name: S Kansas Ave. from 37th St. to 29th St. & 29th St. from Topeka Blvd. to Kansas Ave.
Program Year: 2012
Restart Construction Date: March 18, 2013
Est. Completion: July 19, 2013
Details: SE 29th St. from Topeka Blvd. to Kansas and on Kansas from 29th to Croix a new
waterline was placed. The pavement milled and overlaid along with full depth patches in
various locations. 2013 construction will complete new asphalt pavement surfacing and new
curb & gutter after the project was winterized in Dec. 2012.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $2.2 million.

Project Name: SW 6th St. from Orchard to Topeka Blvd.
Program Year: 2013
Est. Begin Construction Date: March 4, 2013
Est. Completion Date: End of 2013
Details: Waterline to be replaced on SW 6th St. from Orchard to Jewell. This project consists of
removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, concrete
pavement, pavement patching, asphalt overlay and pavement markings.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $1.4 million.

Project Name: Golden Ave. from I-70 Overpass to 2nd St.
Program Year: 2013
Est. Begin Construction Date: May 27, 2013
Est. Completion Date: November 22, 2013
Details: This project is in final design stages. This project consists of removal and replacement
of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, concrete pavement, pavement patching,
asphalt overlay and storm sewer repair.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $1.5 million.

Project Name: 12th St. from Gage to Huntoon (Seabrook Ave.)
Program Year: 2013
Est. Begin Construction Date: July 8, 2013
Est. Completion Date: September 30, 2013
Details: Final design is due mid-May, 2013
Total Estimated: Bid Date: Early June

Project Name: Intersection of NW Gordon St. & NW Vail Ave.
Program Year: 2013
Begin Construction Date: April 8, 2013
Est. Completion Date: May 17, 2013
Details: This project consists of removal and replacement of full depth asphalt pavement,
pavement markings and storm water drainage repair work.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $100,000

Project Name: SW 37th St. (Spring Creek Court to Fairlawn) SW Fairlawn Rd. (SW 37th to SW 34th)
Program Year: 2013
Begin Construction Date: March 18, 2013
Est. Completion Date: November 29, 2013
Details: This project consists of removal of concrete pavement and replacement of concrete
curb and gutter, sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, full depth asphalt pavement and pavement
markings. New waterline and storm water drainage system to be constructed.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $2.6 million.

Project Name: SW Gage Blvd. from SW 33rd Ter. to SW 37th St.
Program Year: 2013
Est. Begin Construction: On Hold

Details: This project consists of removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk,
sidewalk ramps, concrete pavement, pavement patching, asphalt overlay and pavement markings.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: To be determined

Project Name: SE 25th St. from Adams St. to California Ave.
Program Year: 2013
Est. Begin Construction: Mid to Late May
Est. Completion: August 29th, 2013
Details: This project consists of removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk,
sidewalk ramps, concrete pavement, pavement patching, asphalt overlay and storm sewer repair.
Total Estimated Construction Cost: $1.6 million
